Summary

  • Your drawings stay on your machine.* Cadnat runs on your own computers: real files on your own hard drive. We do not receive your drawings, plan files or 3D models.
  • Prompt sharing is one checkbox: on by default for Community, off by default for Pro and Builder, and you can turn it off anytime. If it's on, we receive your prompt text and what Cadnat produced, with personal data scrubbed on your machine first. Community is the free, non-commercial plan. See Prompt sharing below.
  • Cadnat Plans sends files from your PC to your phone over a private, encrypted link between the two. It does not go through any server of ours.
  • When you buy a subscription, Stripe processes the payment. We receive the details needed to run your subscription, not your full card number.
  • We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising trackers on this website.

Cadnat drafts and stores your plan files on your own machines. If you bring a hosted third-party AI model, your request text goes to that provider under its terms, together with a summary of the drawing (layer names, object counts, extents) and any geometry the Assistant looks up to answer. Free Parameter LLC is not responsible for third-party services. Exclusions apply; see Third-party services and bring your own model below.

What this policy covers

This website, purchases of Cadnat subscriptions, support by email, and the data behaviour of the Cadnat desktop app and the Cadnat Plans app and plan server.

Information we collect

Website

The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site. If we turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it measures page views without cookies. TO CONFIRM: analytics on or off

The only thing the site stores in your browser is your light or dark theme choice (local storage). Embedded videos load from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only after you press play; YouTube's privacy policy then applies.

Purchases

Checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and shares with us your name, email, billing country or address, the plan you bought and your subscription status. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the data it processes.

Support and email

If you email us, we keep your messages and any files you choose to send so we can help you.

What stays on your machines

  • Drawings and plan files. Cadnat saves your files on your computer. Cadnat Plans builds sets on your PC and delivers them to your paired phone over a private, encrypted link, inside TLS 1.3. We never receive them.
  • Plan server logs. The plan server keeps an audit log on your PC (time, device, job id, a hash and the first 200 characters of each request). It stays on your PC.
  • Telemetry. TO CONFIRM: state that the desktop app, plan server and phone app send no telemetry or crash reports to us, after checking the code.

Prompt sharing

Cadnat has a sharing checkbox so we can see how people use it and make it better.

  • What gets shared. The text of your prompts and what Cadnat produced from them (the generated result and its parameters).
  • What gets scrubbed first. Before anything is sent, Cadnat filters out addresses, coordinates and other personal data on your own machine.
  • What never gets shared. Your drawings and plan files. They stay on your machine.
  • Defaults. The checkbox is on by default for Community (the free, non-commercial plan) and off by default for Pro and Builder.
  • Turning it off. Uncheck it anytime and we stop collecting.

Third-party services and bring your own model

Some features talk to third-party services that we do not run, under your control and your own accounts. What you send to them is governed by their terms and privacy policies, not this one. Free Parameter LLC does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, including how they store, use, secure or bill for what you send them.

  • AI model providers (bring your own model). If you configure the Assistant or the plan server's AI agent to use a model hosted by a third party, your request text, recent conversation, a summary of the drawing (such as layer names, object counts and extents) and any geometry or parameters the model looks up are sent to that provider. With a local model, nothing goes to a model provider.
  • Networking. The private link between your phone and your PC runs on networking you set up. If you use a third-party networking service for it, that service's terms apply, and Cadnat never holds your credentials for it.
  • Map and terrain services. When you search a place, show the map or import terrain, Cadnat requests data from public map, geocoding and elevation services (for example OpenStreetMap-based services). Those requests include the area or search text.

Exclusions

"Your drawings stay on your machine" describes Cadnat itself: it drafts and stores your plan files on your own machines and has no server of ours in the middle. It does not cover:

  • prompts and results shared through the prompt sharing checkbox, as described above;
  • data sent to a hosted AI model you connect (bring your own model), as described above;
  • map, geocoding and elevation lookups;
  • files you choose to share, upload, email, back up or sync yourself, for example to a cloud drive;
  • files or messages you send us, for example in a support email;
  • any other third-party service you connect yourself.

How we use information

To provide and bill your subscription, send your setup kit and updates, answer support requests, improve Cadnat using prompts shared through the sharing checkbox, keep the site secure, and meet legal and tax obligations. We do not use your information for advertising profiles.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run Cadnat (Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for hosting, our email provider TO CONFIRM), when the law requires it, or with your consent. We do not sell or rent personal information.

Retention

We keep subscription and billing records as long as your subscription is active and afterwards as long as tax and accounting rules require TO CONFIRM: period. Support emails are kept for TO CONFIRM and then deleted.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Stripe's customer portal.

Security

The Cadnat Plans design keeps files inside the private, encrypted link between your phone and PC, pins the server key and authenticates each phone with its own secret. See the security overview. No method of transmission or storage is perfect, and we will tell affected users about a breach as the law requires.

Children

Cadnat subscriptions are for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 TO CONFIRM: 13 or 16.

International transfers

Free Parameter LLC is based in the United States TO CONFIRM: state. Our service providers may process data in other countries under appropriate safeguards.
